Hi Sarah. Having trouble understanding how people can still have a good time
after they've paid $7-60 for a bottle of water. RIL was going on about a
meal once that cost (I think) the equivalent of two weeks wages in N.Z. The
fact that your wages in U.K. allow you to pay these prices show me three
things. 1st, tough luck for the poor unemployed (the gap between the haves
and have nots must be huge) 2nd the absolute irrelevancy of this type of
comparison... and 3rd If ever I thought of travelling again I'll be sure to
give the U.K. a wide miss...But, hey , enjoy yourself.. and thanks for the
info about Frucor. Cheers G

Hi all,
I've been rather quietly recently - can't type for the cold. Winter has
come to England with gale force winds, rain and flooding. Lucky me I was
beginning to ask myself if the OE was a good idea - then I look at the £
buying NZ$3.60 and I know it was. Frucor have got to my laughing all the
way to the foreign exchange counter. Tesco's is almost always sold out
and we have emailed the management at FRU in the UK and told them which
stores are always running out so we can have a constant supply..... it's
almost working.
With the popularity of V and Red Bull everyone is trying to jump on the
'energy drink' band wagon. Supermarkets have released their own pitiful
attempts and now coke is having a go to. I agree that Red Bull is the
energy drink usually sold at clubs across the UK but the main liquid
consumed is water!! All that dancing and sweating is replaced by bottles
upon bottles of evian, and even @ £2.00 a bottle there is still a bottle
in almost every hand. Pubs are a different story but you don't got to a
pub for an energy drink - you go for the beer. Nice idea from Coke but
old habits die hard.
I have also been following the comments made by BRY's hapless CEO - isn't
this the same man who told shareholders that the BRY share price was going
to reach $2.00 within two years, shortly after he took over? No-one
believed him then and I doubt anyone will believe him this time around.
What the the directors planning.... a 1 for 6 consolidation?
I was fortunate enough to attend the AGM when it was last held in
Wellington. More disgruntled retiree's than a grey power meeting and they
certainly let the directors know what they thought of them. When the
floor was opened for questions one angry shareholder asked if it was true
that Camerlin was laundering drug funds through BRY?
At least if that were the case they might have managed to make abit of
money..........
Happy investing,
Sarah
