RE: [sharechat] Fletchers

Yes, I lost money on FFS, bought in at 88 and still have them.....  In hindsight it was not well thought out, the risk was always there that there would be no sale.  In deciding to buy FFS, I accepted that risk, like I now accept that it was my fault, and mine alone that I have lost out on them.  Last week they made up around 25 % of my portfolio.  My decision to buy (as I suspect many peoples) was based partly on what I have read on sharechat and sharetrader, not on sound analysis of the stocks, I would suggest that there was a certain amount of ramping and false hope involved from the most of us, but that's okay, you expect that from any chat board.

In hindsight, it is quite revealing to look at my progress over the last 18 months, since when I hooked up with an online broker and got a bit more serious about playing with the markets.   Looking back, there are three big losses I have made.

a.    ITCOD     Bought at 80 cents, sold at 53.
b.    AQL.        Bought at 12.3 cents (on the way down), sold at 6.
c.    FFS.        Bought at 88 cents, still holding.

These are all stocks that have enjoyed a huge following on Sharechat.  All three of these buying decisions were primarily based on weeks of reading postings about the shares.   At least I managed to maintain a balanced portfolio of stocks and the losses incurred have been balanced out by gains in other areas.  I have also made some good gains this year, mainly on companies that the masses on sharechat were not following so much, SKC, FLP,GPG, AIRVB (thanks to Frank F. for   tip on this one)- which I believe that not many were interested in, after all it was not a "tech".  These companies have all received a small amount of mention on sharechat, but seem to have been passed over by most posters, and have all done quite nicely if you bought in at the right time.

Luckily the gains I have made elsewhere are still holding me in a good position, yes, I have taken a bath on FFS, but that's life, if I can't accept that, then I should leave my money in the bank, or even better, pay the mortgage off a bit faster.....  I'm not angry at Dr Deane or the Fletchers board, I don't blame anyone around here for convincing me to buy them, I should have seen it coming and got out sooner, had I done my homework a bit better, then it is likely that I would have never bought FFS to start with, however, like most of you, I like the thought of a quick buck, so I was happy to gamble some hard earned cash on it.  If it had paid off, we would have all been patting each other on the backs and feeling smug and smart, but as it is, life goes on, I hope that no one has put all their eggs in the one basket, I would expect most of you to have plenty of other shares on your portfolio's, so what the big problem, you win some, you lose some.

Happy Gambling.

John.
