Aye?
What has MMP got to do with the
argument?
The Nats circa 1993/96 were the most ineffectual
government that we have ever had. Not because of MMP but because they thought
they could run things in a FPP manner when those days had gone, and also because
their power lust got them into bed with a nutcase.
They did not have the confidence or the
guts/integrity to try to run a minority government.
This is not to say Lab would have done
better.
MMP is a new concept and is only now starting to
settle. Just recognise that there are governments in Europe that run quite well
with MMP or an equivalent.
