Over the
last few months the nz herald has run a number
of stories about the fletcher stocks, most have
turned out to be
just unsubstantiated rumour.
Question is are they right this time?.
A bid for building at 2.85.
I was hoping for
at least 3.00 but in the present climate i guess
2.85 is better than nothing.
If
there is to be an announcement it will probably be very soon,
their profit announcement contained the
following
Unless the separation process results in a third party sale
recommendation,
the Directors intend that Fletcher Challenge Building will declare a final dividend of 8cps (record date 29/09/2000). This would
point to an announcement before that date, we will be deprived
of a nice juicy dividend although the share price
will probably jump up to around
1.70-175.
This is
of course assuming that the story in the herald is correct.
