That list doesn't look so bad to me Roy.  Depending on the weightings it looks as though it would have worked out quite well not forgetting bonuses (GPG  1:10 each yr) and dividends.
Presumably being a smart investor you would have dumped BRY around $1. Otherwise there are some substantial gains. Would be interesting to see a full  P/L .

I don't think anyone would propose that stocks are held for 5 years without reassessment where changes occur that are obviously going to change profitability.
