Hi Steve,
Great info. Thanks. I will follow up with Forbar.
This is the kind of exchange of information that makes "Chatters" such a
wonderful forum.
Cheers,
John

Hi John,

I've just received the report and its 24 pages long. However I'll summarise
some of the main points below for those who are interested. If you want a
copy I suggest you contact Tom Bliss at Forsyth Barr: tom.bliss@forbar.co.nz
<mailto:tom.bliss@forbar.co.nz> He believes that Blis is probably the
better buy in comparison to A2.
You could also contact David Parker directly at A2/Blis with any questions.

* A2 holds a worldwide exclusive licence to use patent rights and
exploit the commercial opportunities from discovering the link between beta
casein A1 and coronary heart disease.

* Milk contains two variants of the beta casein protein present in
milk: A1 and A2.

* Some cows produce only the A1 variant, some only A2, and some both.

* There is a clear correlation between beta casein A1 consumption and
coronary heart disease based on a theory borne out by statistical studies.

* In contrast there is no strong correlation between coronary heart
disease and the consumption of red meat, or saturated fats.

* The elimination of the A1 variant from fresh cows milk products
could save millions of lives worldwide.

* The discovery is an important key to other respiratory ailments such
as asthma and lung cancer, and to other ailments like psoriasis, duodenal
ulcers and chronic disorders of the immune system.

* The company believes that worldwide production of milk will shift to
cows producing the A2 beta casein variant.

* Together with Genesis Research and Development they have developed a
new DNA screening test to test for A1 producing cows.

* A2 has trademarks in Australia, New Zealand, and the USA for "A2
True" milk.

* A2 has already negotiated a sub licence of its technologies to an
Australian milk producer and intends promoting its technologies in countries
around the world where patents have been sought.
