[sharechat] So you think NZ has tech stocks

The following is a comment about one of the stocks which I admit to holding. To avoid any ramp, I have taken out the name.
<<<< The reason xxxx is going to be worth so much is not because it is a
business directory at the moment, but because it is setting itself up as the
infomediary service for future technologies.

xxxx will sit between the product/service provider and the consumer. They
have developed proprietary technology (V1 and V2) to facilitate this. V1
will automatically locate the user via his net communication device, which
in the near future is more likely to be mobile phone, Palm, i-TV etc than a
PC (at the moment the location function is carried out by typing
in the desired area). xxxx's database will then automatically give the user
the location of the nearest business. They will also be able to process the
transaction. For example if you want to know what's on at the nearest
cinema, xxxx will locate you automatically through your phone, give you a
choice of local films and then process the ticket purchase.

Their V2 technology allows service providers to write content once and then
be automatically configured to the consumer's access device. (At the moment
content has to be rewritten in HTML, WML, HDML etc).

Combining V1 and V2 will allow push marketing. eg McDonalds could send out a
group message to all mobile users within 50m of an outlet at 12.30pm
offering free drinks with a meal) This is all going to happen and xxxx are
building up critical mass of users, businesses and content to make them the
de facto infomediary service across Europe. This is one of the reasons they
have a partner programme with content providers and local web sites.

Tourist will be able to ask xxxx for desired service, be pointed towards
xxxx subscriber and then download a map to get there from his location.

Their V2 tech will also allow travelling workers, delivery vans etc to link
up with their own company intranet while on the move. This is why xxxx have
done deal with Pointserve. Users will be able to find product, check
availability, purchase and arrange delivery through xxxx. This will be
linked in to product provider's system and will direct delivery accordingly.

Travelling workers will also have access to intranet while on the move

Mobile access will explode in 2003 approx when G3 comes on stream, and by
then xxxx aim to be the pan European provider of above services and more
(witness deal with Vivendi who plan Europe-wide mobile gateway, with xxxx
services integrated.)

They expect to be handling over 5m transactions a day by then, not simple
business location, but actual transactions.

Don't sell yet>>>>
