Independent Commissioner rules in favour of Pegasus Bay Town - After t
2nd independent hearing in 2 years, planning commissioner John Milligan has
recommended in favour of the new town proposal at Pegasus Bay, 20km north of
Christchurch. Waimakariri District Council adopted his recommendation at its
last meeting.  Pegasus Bay Coastal Estates, a wholly owned subsidiary of
Southern Capital, is the developer.  The proposed Pegasus Bay town site
occupies 341 hectares immediately east of Woodend and is planned for 1,800
dwellings and a population of 5,000.  The built-out value of the town would
be $130m.
