Re: [sharechat] What happened to John

Good to hear from you again John. You hadn't leapt from a ten-story building after all ;>)

Your charting package sounds interesting if the total price was $195 ? Do they have a web site ?

I think your experience with your share-holding would be not uncommon in the current economic climate.
The important thing is to keep tabs on what is happening.  I made the mistake in years gone by of not keeping up with the play and as a result ended up with some dead ducks  e.g. BRY which I had always regarded as a good foundation share.  When it started to dive it went down quickly and I wasn't watching the market closely enough.  Nowadays there is so much information available via the 'net that it is much easier to follow what is happening.

Good luck

Hi Brian.
Yup. I have been quiet and also been to the Henely Seminar the other day. $195 lighter in the pocket now but in all fairness i did come away with some worthwhile information. The program they are running now which is only just being released onto the market is certainly a good looking program. It has undergone radical refinments and for a newbie like myself it could very well offer a help in shining a light forwards. Well.  backwards I spose with a reflection going forwards. The only problem is I can't get it to run on my puter and they are trying to fix that problem now.
As far as advice is concerned. All advice is good advice. The relevance and weight of which can only be awarded by the advisee? :))
I have sold Richina, Ephone and Chrome Global so if tradition is anything to go on I would suggest others buy them now because they are bound to rise faster than Mother Edmonds self raising flour.
In disgust I have brought  Warehouse at $5.73. I say in disgust because I wanted to buy them at $4.00 but..  well..  I didn't. Any current holders would be well advised to sell now before I make them drop to much.
Do I sound like a defeatist? Well..  sometimes life just drops great bundles of the brown stuff from on high and it gets hard to drag yourself out from under it. When you own something like 16 different lots of shares and only three of them rise it makes you wonder if money can really be made on this share market or not. I beleive with the right knowledge and systems it can be done.
I think the first thing I have to do is learn to minimise my losses and run with the profits. Trouble is in not really knowing that to start with I could very well be at the bottom of the trough now and to hang on in might work. But. With no cast iron guarantees I have bailed.
I have kept spectum because I took up the 2 cents offer and I have noticed that spectrum is one share that seems to move around and that at least allows me to salvage something from that one.
I bought Warehouse because I believe it is a Mum's and Dad share and I know many people who are seriously looking at dabbling in the markt but are only waiting for it to show some upwards movement. Warehouse seems to be one a lot say they would like to own. Sooooo..  we can but try.
I am looking seriously at selling a lot more of my portfolio of the poorer stocks but am just waiting for one of those rare upward trending days when the arrows change colour.
If anyone has more advice or opinions I am only to happy to watch and read and assess the information put forward.
Sorry to make this read like a life novel. I could be a lot more succinct if required. :)))
Cheers. John
