I agree with Ben Dutton' comments.
All businesses must concentrate on their
fundamentals. Branding, matching the cost of acquistion and retention of
customers with sales being generated, ensuring you have the correct
customer service model, in the case of the internet price, delivery and product
selection are what the customer looks at and also concentrating on
your marketing spend - how much in what medium and when!
All I can say for my company Beauty Direct is
customer numbers and sales are continuing to increase, repurchase stats are
still very high and our customers love our mix of convenience, product, price,
delivery and service, a winning combination!
We have always stated that we would not spend large
amounts of money on mass marketing and we remain committed to very targeted
branding, promotion and advertising. Controlling costs is the key to any
business not just an internet business!
Internet retailing is here to stay, just ask some
of my customers!
