I agree with Ben Dutton' comments.

All businesses must concentrate on their fundamentals. Branding, matching the cost of acquistion and retention of customers with sales being generated, ensuring you have the correct customer service model, in the case of the internet price, delivery and product selection are what the customer looks at and also concentrating on your marketing spend - how much in what medium and when!

All I can say for my company Beauty Direct is customer numbers and sales are continuing to increase, repurchase stats are still very high and our customers love our mix of convenience, product, price, delivery and service, a winning combination!

We have always stated that we would not spend large amounts of money on mass marketing and we remain committed to very targeted branding, promotion and advertising. Controlling costs is the key to any business not just an internet business!

Internet retailing is here to stay, just ask some of my customers!
