You could try using your dial-up connection first i.e. before calling up your browser. I presume you currently get your browser to do the connection. I have noticed, recently, that often one gets a v.slow connection through the browser but by using the dial-up first you get back to normal speed - around 45k you won't ever get to 56k in my experience. This seems to have happened since the recent ' I love you" worm scare and I wonder if the ISPs have installed extra protection - just a theory. Don't think the new freebies are responsible, many will just be transfers from another ISP, like me :>) BG At 09:40 28-05-00 +0000, you wrote: >A question to any IT pers out there.
