Mike I wouldn't use an online broker. The execution rates are slow and
they will get slower if the market gets worse. In fact studies show that
in the States the trading system freeze if too many people put in online
sells at once.

Use the telephone. Access and Direct are poor. Especially Access. Had
lots of difficulty with them.

You'll pay more brokerage but you might be better off with a proper
broker like CSFirst Boston. The direct firms tend to have unexperienced
people while the bigger more expensive firms have some seasons guys.
Failing that, if you still want cheap brokerage I hear good things of
Sarah Corkill at Direct. 0800-805-777. But use the phone.
