I recently 'lost' a FIN #. The registry would not tell my broker the
number. They cancelled the # and issued me with a new one.

I can't think of a single case of shares being stolen, paper or
electronic. Anyone else?
Probably more likely to lose your share value through the market than
theft. Hope not!!
