I bought some shares yesterday and there is a special dividend to be paid next week with the record date being set at this Monday 20 March. My brokerage firm is not too quick off the mark in the past in registering my shares. Will I suffer if they don't do this first thing on Monday, and do I have to ring them first thing on Monday to get them to register my shares to ensure that I qualify? Or will I qualify anyway as long as I still have ownership of the shares even if registration is not done as quickly as I would like it to be? Some advice needed and greatly appreciated.
