If the government had never sold off Telecom we wouldn't need compulsory savings to pay for retirement. At they time they sold Telecom it had just spent a fortune renovating the network so as to make an attractive purchase. I can't help but still wander how much of the improvement we've seen in Telecom is due to the re-vamp prior to sale.
