>We have already seen a previous NZ government follow silly >broker advice in hocking off a big chunk of AIA to overseas >investors who promptly sold out at a much higher price to >NZ investors who couldn't get an allocation. As it happens Hugh I feel strongly about this. This happened with Contact as well, the decision makers responsible should be sacked, no question in my mind at all. If they are no longer in positions of power then they should be held up for public ridicule. They screwed up, so there should be some reckoning to stop people in similar positions doing the same thing OVER and OVER again. The were not accountable and have had little or no public scrutiny, Does anyone even know who the people who make such decisions are? This sort of thing does NOTHING for the state of our sharemarket, makes us a JOKE amoung overseas investors and worst of all loses NZ investors LOTS of money.
