RE: [sharechat] Re: ARM & technological progress
The cost of rolling out fibre optic cables to every residential consumer is
prohibitive and not likely to happen in the next ten years. It only makes
sense to lay fibre to high density business areas. Saturn has not turned a
profit in it's four years of existence and is not likely to in it's next
four. In fact it's FY98 results showed a $23 million loss on revenue of
$977K. FY99 was not much better.
Wireless access is key to both Internet and all other converging
technologies! The first company to deploy a cost effective wireless network
for multiple applications in NZ will grab large amounts of market share. Why
do you think Telecom NZ cling to it's monopoly of copper access to the
consumer?
