[sharechat] ADMIN: Virus in message Phyllis Taylor (happy99.exe)
There was a virus in the message posted by Phyllis Taylor earlier
today. The attachment, happy99.exe, is a well-known worm which gives the
message 'Happy New Year 1999!!', displays firework graphics, and attempts
to send itself automatically to others using email (as has happened to
Phyllis).
The virus will only have infected your computer if you ran it, so all you
need to do to make your system safe is delete the message. Do not open or
run the attachment. If you have, you should contact your technical support
and get help to clean your system.
In general, do not open or run attachments from people you do not know.
For more information on Happy99, check the standard virus databases. The
McAfee report on Happy99 is available at http://vil.mcafee.com/vil/vpe10144.asp
