Natural Gas has announced its current CEO, Richard Bentley, will retire in the next few weeks to be replaced by Australian executive, John Barton.
Mr Barton was formerly general manager of South Australian energy retailer ETSA and a senior executive with gas producer Santos.
Natural Gas is majority owned by Australian Gas and Light, which also owns ETSA.
NCH says retiring CEO Richard Bentley will become a director of the company, and will also be involved in assisting the new MD in the merger transition period over the coming months.
The appointments will come into effect once shareholders approve changes to the company's constitution at its annual general meeting tomorrow.
Mr Barton is due to take up his position next month.
