Contact Energy has appointed Mark Elliott, a former Fletcher Challenge Energy and Shell International executive to the position of chief financial officer.
Elliott comes to Contact from Nyrstar NV, where he was regional director of Australia and Asia for the world's largest zinc smelting company.
Before entering the minerals and energy sectors, Elliott trained as an accountant, starting his career in the tax and audit for KPMG and working in financial market products for the ANZ Bank.
He replaces Kim Josling, who took a post in Sydney with Contact's controlling shareholder, Origin Energy, earlier this year.
