U.S. stock markets closed at record highs regardless of the selloff during the week. The central bank may think of cutting more of the $120 billion bond-buying programs per month, indicated by Fed Chairman Powell.The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed higher with +0.60%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite up 0.95% and 0.73%, respectively.
Other key markets ended lower. European stocks closed lower as follows: the FTSE100 (-0.42%), the Dax 30 (-0.10%), CAC 40 (-0.24%) and the STOXX (-0.22%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices were down. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(-1.00%), HSI (-1.07%) and the Shanghai Composite (-0.18%).
The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 1.49%, while the 2 - year note was at 0.654%. Oil was down to $75.15 per barrel, up 0.98%. The gold price was at US$1783.14 per ounce, up 0.39%.
