TrustPower Ltd, the utility controlled by Infratil Ltd, named Hydro Tasmania executive Vince Hawksworth as chief executive, replacing Keith Tempest.
Hawksworth, a former retail manager for Genesis Energy, will take up his new role in April. Until then, TrustPower retail division manager Chris O’Hara will be acting CEO, the company said in a statement today.
Tempest signalled in May that he planned to retire from the job as 23 years with the company, the last eight as CEO. Hawksworth has experience of wind power developments and management of hydro-inflow risks, the company said.
Shares of TrustPower last traded unchanged at $7.30 and have declined about 3% in the past month.
