The a2 Milk Company (a2MC, the Company) advises that Kate Mitchell (nee Morrison) has been appointed as an independent non-executive director of the Company with effect from 1 June 2023. The Board has determined that Ms Mitchell will be the Chair of the Board’s Audit and Risk Management Committee from 1 July 2023, replacing outgoing Deputy Chair, Julia Hoare, who will retire from the Board on 30 June 2023.

Kate has significant governance experience as a director of both private and public companies. She is currently Chair of The New Zealand Merino Company and Link Engine Management and a director of Heartland Group Holdings, FarmRight, and Christchurch International Airport, for which she also serves as Chair of the Risk, Audit & Finance Committee.

Prior to moving to New Zealand in 2014, Kate’s executive career spanned over 20 years in investment banking in London, which included senior leadership roles across several divisions within global investment banks including Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch.

Chair of the Board, David Hearn, said: “We are pleased to appoint Kate as a director of the Company. She is a highly capable individual who brings valuable skills and experience in finance, risk and governance and is an excellent successor to Julia Hoare to Chair our Audit and Risk Management Committee.

“The Board would also like to acknowledge the exceptional service that outgoing Deputy Chair, Julia Hoare has made to The a2 Milk Company over many years. We thank Julia for her significant contribution,” said Mr Hearn.
