Warehouse Group, the biggest retailer on the NZX 50 Index, appointed Stephen Small as chief financial officer starting on April 23.
Small is returning to New Zealand after 12 years working overseas in a variety of senior financial roles, the company said in a statement. His previous job was as CFO for General Motors Korea.
Small replaces Luke Bunt, who resigned in February, after 10 years in charge of the retailer’s books. The retailer has overhauled its senior management in the past year, having tapped Warehouse Stationery boss Mark Powell to replace Ian Morrice as chief executive in May last year.
Sales fell 0.3 percent to $1.67 billion in 2011. Warehouse was unchanged at $2.75 on the NZX today and sank to a 14-year low of $2.49 on Feb. 15. The shares reached as high as $7.32 in 2007.
