Swiss-based Holcim is branding its cement plants worldwide and its stylised logo has been popping up on the company's cement silos in ports around New Zealand.
Holcim took over ownership of Milburn several years ago after holding a percentage share in the company since 1971.
Holcim New Zealand will continue to source and process all its products in New Zealand. As part of the rebranding, Milburn's products will also change their name to Holcim Cement and Holcim Aggregates.
Its subsidiary companies Ready Mixed Concrete, Ashby's, Isaacs, McDonald's Lime and Taylor's Lime will retain their existing identities.
"Rebranding as Holcim is the logical progression of a 30-year business relationship with our parent company," Milburn managing director Rex Williams said today.
The skyline of New Zealand's cities, as well as at least half the country's roads and bridges, owe their shape and structure to Milburn products.
Milburn was founded in Dunedin in 1888 as the Milburn Lime and Cement Company.
The company employs 751 people in 50 centres around the country.
