Lloyd Morrison, who stepped down from his executive and directorship roles in January to get treatment for leukaemia, may resume some of his duties before the end of the year, according to a statement from Auckland International Airport.
Morrison, the founder of Infratil Ltd. and a director of companies the group invests in, such as Auckland Airport and TrustPower, has been receiving treatment in Seattle. Marko Bogoievski stepped up as chief executive of Infratil in his place and today was announced as alternate for Morrison on the airport’s board.
Morrison “is making good progress with his recovery from his illness and expects to be back contributing to the board later this year,” Auckland Airport chairman Tony Frankham said in a statement.
Under Morrison, Infratil has built up a portfolio of infrastructure assets including airports in Germany and the U.K., the bus fleets in Auckland and Wellington, the biggest stake in TrustPower, Wellington Airport and energy investments in Australia.
The shares have climbed about 4.3% this year and were recently unchanged at $1.69.
