US markets closed lower on Thursday as worker productivity fell to the lowest level since 1947 falling 7.5% first quarter. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed down 3.12%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were down 3.56% and 4.99% respectively.

Other key markets ended mixed. European stocks closed as follows: the FTSE100 (+0.13%), the Dax 30 (-0.49%), CAC 40 (-0.43%) and the STOXX (-0.76%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices closed mixed. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(-0.11%), HSI (-0.36%) and the Shanghai Composite (+0.68%).

The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 3.035%, while the 2 - year note was at 2.712%. Oil was up to $111.1 per barrel, up 0.84%. The gold price was at US$1877.2 per ounce, down 0.89%.
