U.S. stock markets closed mixed after the focus shifting from positive updates on the Omicron variant to inflation data and Federal Reserve's policy decision.
This morning the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.08%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite down 0.48% and 1.37%, respectively.
Other key markets ended mixed. European stocks closed lower as follows: the FTSE100 (-0.22%), the Dax 30 (-0.30%), CAC 40 (-0.09%) and the STOXX (-0.59%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices were up. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(-0.47%), HSI (+1.08%) and the Shanghai Composite (+0.98%)
The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 1.49%, while the 2 - year note was at 0.68%. Oil was down to $74.14 per barrel, down 2.22%. The gold price was at US$1776.33 per ounce, down 0.41%.
