The brewer is making changes to the structure at the West Coast site, which it says is the outcome of extensive consultation with staff and union representatives.
The Greymouth brewery was originally destined to be closed until a public outcry forced a company turnaround.
Under the new structure 10 out of 15 full-time staff will be retained. Those without jobs have been offered similar jobs in Auckland or a redundancy package.
MD Brian Blake has meanwhile dismissed as unfounded a possible personal grievance claim by some brewery staff.
"Our staff have known for some time that not everyone at the brewery is keeping their job," he says, "but this will not make the reality of losing their job any easier for them."
Mr Blake says he intends meeting with Grey District Mayor, Kevin Brown to further progress earlier discussions about additional opportunities for the Monteith's Brewing Company site.
