Telecom post-merger exodus continues as Gilbertson leaves

Telecom's group general counsel Tristan Gilbertson has become the latest executive at the biggest company on the NZX 50 Index to depart following its demerger with Chorus.

Gilberston has been with Telecom since July 2008 and is responsible for the company's corporate services functions, which include legal, communications, regulatory affairs and risk and audit.

Chief executive Simon Moutter said he is mulling how best the general counsel's functions can best function with Telecom now as a retail focused service provider.

Alan Goudie, head of Telecom retail, departs effective Oct. 31 and Paul Reynolds resigned as chief executive on June 30. Other executives to depart include director of corporate relations Tina Symmans.

Telecom shares last traded at $2.38 and have gained 15 percent this year.
