November 22nd Morning Report

US markets closed lower on Monday due to declines in energy stocks following a report of a likely increase in oil output, while gains in Disney helped ease pressure on the Dow and S&P 500. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 0.59%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were up 0.48% and up 0.01% respectively.

Other key markets ended lower. European stocks closed as follows: the FTSE100 (-0.12%), the Dax 30 (-0.36), CAC 40 (-0.15%) and the STOXX (-0.40%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices closed mixed. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(-0.11%), HSI (-0.29%) and the Shanghai Composite (-0.39%).

The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 3.829%, while the 2 - year note was at 4.552%. Oil was up to $80.11 per barrel, down 1.87%. The gold price was at US$1752.20 per ounce, down 0.62%.
