Dear David,
That was appreciated. I am not a
enormously wide on foreign affairs and keep quiet - v quiet about the
Irag/USA/GB situation and
also our own peculiar position with with original
peoples in NZ.
I have slightly unusual thoughts and your setting
out a broad view without blame or intolerance was great.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and the rest of your
life also.
Cheerfully Phyllis.

real gold that is.
Don`t mistake the occasional bumbling by America
in Iraq as indicative of lack of a long term strategy . They have had
too much time to ponder the mistakes of the First Gulf War to not capitalise
on that lesson . Pity though they did not learn from one
previous mistake of incursion from the borders and having to sustain
initiatives while protecting their flank from a literally disturbed
hornet `s nest . Like Israel ,whose only immediate friendly neighbour is the
Mediterranean coastline to the West . America is flying near solo,
with no UN sanction, in an Iraq invasion now gone sour
and cannot retreat with dignity as she fosters more enemies by the
day . She has created a brotherhood of those who were traditional enemies
of one another now united in their own common cause . Iraq has
become a catalyst for hosting the malcontents over the last couple of
centuries who felt the west has always defined the world for them .
America realises the nuclear threat grows internally -as well as the more
clandestine terrorist threat within her own shores . Remember America has
never been invaded in war conditions . Her soldier dead were
always buried on foreign shores . The American psyche cannot handle
the ill-defined or unknown . The Hawks at home have flown their nest
long ago . They are represented within the religious , the traditional
armament and long serving career ranks of the military at home . Diaspora
Zionist and wealthy have their role behind Bush as well in the total
context of a fortress Middle East . There is nothing hick about the
vested interest groups that now use Texan George Bush
President with his ten gallon hat as their pawn. We now have a
crusade on our hands .
