Coastwatch and GBRMPA have agreed to jointly fund the pilot program which includes; . Deployment of three SW1 sonobuoy units in the Great Barrier Reef . Installation of a Zylotech SONASURV Geographical Command and Display Unit, at a land based control and monitoring station, to monitor the sonobuoy 'findings' over satellite. The unique SeaWatch SW1 system is the first acoustic surveillance product released for commercial use by Zylotech following its acquisition of Sonacom Ltd in 2003. It was part funded under a Commonwealth AusIndustry R&D Start Grant to develop an acoustic based system for monitoring world oceans. Under the R&D Start Grant funded program, other shorter-life, and quick deployable and GPS trackable product versions using the core SeaWatch and Sea Vigil technology are in development and planned for release in 2004 and 2005. Zylotech sees this agreement reached with Coastwatch and GBRMPA as a breakthrough opportunity and a platform to capitalise on interest expressed by other potential customers within Australia and overseas. Zylotech is pleased to advise that Customs
Coastwatch in conjunction with the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority
