Vending Technologies developed an
"intellegent" type of vending machine which utilises phone lines to
send messages to the operator regarding sales from the machine. This means that
when it is time to restock the operator knows exactly what stock to take. The
machines will also contact the operator if there is a defect or if there has
been an unusual run of sales and restocking earlier is required.
The company has branched out to the USA and recently sold a
master franchise for I think it was US$1m for California. They are also looking
at going into other states in the US. As these master franchises are sold
I believe the purchasers will strongly look at selling the technology into
existing vending machines in order to recover their outlay.
VTL have also recently purchased a company in Europe which had
gone bankrupt and owned a chain of vending stores. They will be introducing
their technology into these stores to make them more profitable
IMHO I see this company as one of the better prospects for
growth as they sell master franchises into more US states and if their venture
into Europe is successful the growth prospects are enormous.
This is Kiwi enginuity at its best.
