New announcement:

SKG 11:38 AM ! Singapore business to increase group profits

SKG today announced that its recent acquisition of Clear DataVoice is expected to increase the company's consolidated profits by $400,000 over the next twelve months, generating additional recurring revenues of $2M per annum.

"By leveraging Clear DataVoice's growing customer base, established sales team and experienced operational staff to launch SkyNetGlobal's wireless hotspot and W Home products, we have effectively reduced our start-up risks and thus will achieve profits a lot faster than if we would have started from scratch and employed local staff."

"In addition, we have already achieved and will continue to reap substantial network operational and capital expenditure savings in supporting our Singapore wireless broadband network by leveraging Clear DataVoice's extensive broadband infrastructure, call centre, billling and customer management systems," said Mr Soon.

The company also reports that its revised date for the official launch of its McDonalds WiFi network is now confirmed for Tuesday, 23rd March, 2004.

{NB Low cost access to new market, fast track to profit, launching soon.)

4) Cash Balance UP 630% - $1.32M (corresponding period $180,955)

5) CEO, Jonathan Soon said; "We are extremely pleased with the net profit results ($0.8M) for the 6 month period as we had earlier forecasted net profits of $1M for the full financial year ending June 30, 2004."

TELSTRA'S wireless hotspot alliance with McDonalds has come to fruition, with the first access points going live in the hamburger chain.

The alliance will eventually see around 500 installed at McDonalds locations, with the rollout due to be completed within 12 to 18 months. Hotspot access can be paid for via a Telstra post-paid mobile phone account or by credit card.

Telstra's next priorities in hotspot acquisition would be conference locations and the addition of more hotels, Telstra spokeswoman Virginia Murphy said.

Rival Optus has also targeted food outlets with its wireless service, forging alliances with Gloria Jean's and Hudson's coffee shops and the Deli France chain of sandwich shops.

This is significant news.

A seriously big Telco committing investment $ to this technology means they are convinced of WiFi's future potential and should be planning additional strategies for network expansion.

Regards,
Cris
