Hugh,
I agree
- the post was not intended to be other than "superficial" some of it maybe
irrelevant . But just maybe a superficial suggestion that just maybe being
a poor listener is more significant than first supposed . I have worked with
start up owners of businesses who because they made a successful debut
thought they were invincible . That they remained superior to the opinion of
"others ". One individual ,a multi millionaire refused to go metric when
the rest of the imperial world had a consensus contrary to his
own.
Effectively said " I `m
not going to change from how I`ve always done things just because the rest of
the world chooses to be different " We were in the Logging and Timber business .
It wasn`t just quaint bloody Mindedness when we had to convert all his Imperial
measurements to metric because of some idiocyncracy .
Further ,others on this Forum had covered fundamentals extremely well
already . Maybe we had got to a stage of over analysis hence time for the
maybe not useless superficiality or overview rather than simply rake the
coals..
I was
struck by somebody`s ,was it Cris , suggestion that if we are talking culture
differences , that Melbourne stands out as a good and maybe single example
,compared to a more gay- hearted Sydney . That TWS concentrate
there and target similar areas and leave
the Melbourne`s to a more relaxed future .However ,where margins have to be
small , maybe spread of representatiom is the more critical factor.
