Mixtrader and Alan mentioned the good old Phillips Curve - discovered by, dare i say it, a NZer. Was working in Britain at the time I think Wonderful concept driven from the assumption that higher inflation leads to lower unemployment etc .... and displayed beautifully on a chart during the 60's (at least for the US econonomy) But since 1969 the chart looks like an ant has wandered over it - lines all over the place. A classic example of an established theory becing invalidated. But is it? - there are many economists out there still looking for the return of the Phillips Curve. Maybe it has re-emerged in the US and that the current data re unemployment and inflation is a load of old crock. _________________________________________________________________ Hot chart ringtones and polyphonics.
