Let me be honest here - I am not a systems back tester. However, - here is what I have learned and use somewhat from Alex Elder and Dan Gramza. They both backtest by eye on the chart and both adhere to this. I don't find this easy but I am prepared to take it on board and do as much as I can. I think it applies more to taking a product and moving in and out of it fairly constantly. Here I am able to be corrected ????? I am a stocks trader only. May I mention here that Alex Elder has one of his regular weeklong Camps coming up next July - back in Fiji - where he had the first South Pacific Camp in 1999. He holds several a year and hasn't been down here for a couple of years now. The other tutor will be Gerald Apell - the Father of the MACD. I heard him last year and found his further usage of the MACD - including differing number for different markets - pretty amazing. He will be speaking each afternoon and Alex each morning and excellent and very detailed notes are available so that what isn't taken in and retained can be restored at a later and less exciting time. There are already quite a few bookings/enquiries including some from NZ - it is on his Website www.elder.com but if anyone wants to speak to me about it Iam v happy to answer any enquiries (and probably give a few thoughts of my own!!!)
