There has been recent discussion on this forum regarding AMP.
Let me caution sharechatters against investing in financial services companies
such as AMP.
My argument against them is that when things go go bad they go bad very
quickly often without any prior hint of trouble. Tower and AMP are examples
of this.
In contrast a bricks and mortar, or a metal bashing company often decline in a
more orderly fashion allowing you to exit in a more controlled fashion.
With financial services co's the awareness of financial reverses often comes
as a bolt from the blue leaving you surrounded by the rubble of your
investment.
