Followed this thread as I would also miss
this channel if it disappears.
My limited research has led me to conclude that
we, the sharechatters, are the only interest group who can/will swing this
decision.
Because
(1) the print media (NZ Herald, BRW) won't
help - CNBC is the opposition in their eyes
(2) stockbrokers apparently have no interest
in preserving it - I guess their sources of info are much more
comprehensive. Further I guess for them, turning on CNBC when you get
home would be akin to being "in the office".
Brokers would also see CNBC as the opposition. For
example in the case of investors who do not have
Internet access - why ring a broker for info EG a stock price if its ticking
almost live across the bottom of your TV screen.
So I think it's up to us to try and wield some
influence, which can be done in several ways:
A) Call Martin Wrigley, Operations Manager , SKY
TV on 0800 759 759. Most likely you will only get to talk to his voice
mail, but leave a nice message anyway.
B)Send an e-mail to Attention Martin Wrigley at
C) Send an e-mail to Cheryl Wang at Cheryl.wang@cnbcasia.com
I believe she is lobbying hard to get SKY to
continue CNBC.
D) as mentioned in a previous post go to http://savecnbc.tk/ and lodge a "NO" vote.
I must admit I don't know who controls this site or what effect your vote will
have. I have had no problems security-wise with this web site.
Wouldn't expect everyone to do all the above,
although some have already, but any one of the four would help, I'm
sure.
Thank you,
