The Trust Banks are actually community credit
schemes that are run and administered by TEARFUND's partners such as Opportunity
International. Each 'bank' requires $12,000 in funding over a two year period
and supports roughly 25 people into starting small businesses. Training and
support in basic business skills are given to all members of the
group, and they meet together on a regular basis to support one
another in their business enterprises.
