An interesting insight into the inner workings of the MacDunk trading strategy ... surely this is what a discussion list is partly about ... what motivates other people to make their investment decisions. BSE caused somewhere between medium and widespread concern in the UK, but much of it has been forgotten by your average beef consumer, who doesn't really pay much attention to any health matters unless they're making headlines in The Sun. The Europeans, on the other hand, who until recently consumed a fair bit more British beef than they do now, voted with their feet. The emotional response to such issues is possibly the one to watch, for many distrust their politicians, and so go on gut instinct, fueled by tabloid headlines. Hence, MacDunk may be on the right track with his assumptions, but off-target with the magnitude?
