Pete,

As long as you are going to make your own decisions on what shares to buy,
and don't intend to use the broker as an advisor, then the easiest thing to
do is to sign up with an online broker.

I use access brokerage http://www.accessbrokerage.co.nz/ who do an excellent
job. If you are already an ASB customer they also offer this as a service.
An online broker is cheaper and easier, but they don;t offer advice.

You should have a look at the sites and see the sort of things that are
available. Most of the information is there without needing to sign up or
make any committment.
