[sharechat] SKC, SARS and Asian High Rollers
I don't like having to repeat myself on this forum, but some things just
have to be repeated.
Here is what Sky City say about their business in the 1999 investment
statement (from p20), as i reported on 25th March:
"Around 75% of Sky City casino customers are drawn from the
Auckland Metropolitan region. Visitors to Auckland from elsewhere in
New Zealand make up approximately 15% of Casino customers with
the balance (10%) represented by overseas visitors."
In order for SARS to be a threat to the profitability of SKC, we must
have evidence that Asian high rollers are responsible for a significant
proportion of the profits of SKC. I would like to point out that there is
no evidence to support the statement that asian high rollers are all
significant in the business plan of SKC. Nada , zilch, zip, none at all.
As a result, all claims that Asian hotspots of SARS are a threat to SKC
are from now on inoperative. The claim that Asian high rollers are
staying away from SKC in droves have now ceased their credibility
(they were never there in significant numbers to start with). Any claim
that the profitability balloon of SKC is about to be pricked by asian
SARS hysteria is an ex-claim. Bereft of credibility, all such claims
should now rest in peace. SARS horror scenarios for SKC are now
dead, buried and pushing up daisies.
Have I made my opinion clear on this one?
