Daryl In addition to Phaedrus' response re. QQQ, you may want to consider what is called Standard and Poor's Depositary Receipts (usually called "spiders" - SPDR). The one with the symbol SPY is an index fund comprising the 500 companies of the S&P 500. However, there are other spiders that focus on specific sectors - for example the one with the symbol XLK comprises all of the technology companies within the S&P500, and the one with ticker XLV all within the health care (including biotech). If you're keen on the NASDAQ due to the potential of the technology sector, you may also want to consider XLK that has lower volatility than the NASDAQ overall due to the fact that it comprises larger tech. companies. All spiders are publicly listed and can be traded via an internet-based broker. If you do a web search using SPDR as key word, you'll get a wealth of info on them. _________________________________________________________________ Add photos to your messages with MSN 8.
