Ted,
    I think I have worked out how we are misunderstanding each other. When you 
speak of a 24 month chart, you mean a chart covering a specific historical 24 
month period. When I speak of a 24 month chart, I have always meant a chart 
covering the most recent 24 month period.
 Anyhow, here is an expanded chart covering the entire 30+ month span of the 
trendline in question. Take a look at it, and if it does not answer your 
questions, or if I am still missing the point, get back to me. Don't give up!
