Hi Nick, >Snoopy wrote > " In what way is having gold bars stashed under your mattress > productive? Perhaps my sense of humour is getting too obscure, but it struck me as ironic that you criticised our government for not knowing what is best for 'our' tax maney. Yet your previous post started: "This gold market A bunch of us have been hyping it for months now and have been rewarded for our speculation." I drew the connection between the two posts that in your opinion the nation would be a lot better off if they cancelled taxes and gave everyone their tax money back so they could speculate in gold. I don't doubt that some do profit by speculating in gold. But I can just imagine sixteen year olds who have just left school, people who attend bingo nights, and those who bet on the horses all suddenly becoming experts in gold trading and blowing all their dough. Or stashing gold bars under their bed and getting them nicked leaving the government with no tax money to support them! The fact that the government hasn't pulled the plug on all facets of community aid to invest in gold on behalf of these people I see as a good thing. Have a good week Nick, but don't be too serious over it.
