Hi Gerry > > >Sorry Snoopy, > >Can't comply. IMHO it is against all fundamental investing. > >Had you asked for say 4, I may have a go. At least the losers can be >accounted for by the winners. > > What you say is absolutely correct. I am not suggesting that everyone pick their Australian favourite and pile all their money into that (even hypothetically). Let me make that quite clear! The idea here is not to work as individual gurus, but as a group. to put forward a basket of shares that everyone has selected together is the aim. Not to play one person off against the other! I'm limiting it to one so that participants can do a decent amount of homework on their nomination! I'm trying to complie some collective group wisdom here! >From the point of view of an individual investor putting money up, I would say even your four shares is too few! But that isn't really the point. I can guarantee that from the individual suggestions there will be losers. This does not mean the people who selected those losers are fools. I myself have publically selected several 'losers' over the last couple of years. The point is to try and make sure your total investment portfolio winners can account for any losses. As some wise investor once told us.... Hang on, I think it was you!
