Hi Holden, > >I can't seem to find a way to filter potential investments from the >overall pool of possible investments. Are there any free online >services available? I think it would be a highly inefficient use of >my time if I just randomly picked a company, did research on it, >only to find out it was a waste of time to look into. > > All pointers are welcome. Thank you. > > Try this. Go to this website http://www.globalregister.co.nz/share.htm There you will find a good summary of all the listed New Zeland companies, displayed in four alternative formats. Go to format 2 and you will see that one of the columns listed is dividend yield. Note the high dividend yield shares as your starting point, and read across the column to grab the appropriate 3 letter share codes. Next go to the sharechat sister site 'stocknessmonster' http://stocknessmonster.com There is a search engine on the front page that allows you to enter these three letter codes and bring up all the news releases for the share you select for the last four years or so. Some of these news releases will be profit announcements, from which you can start building up a profit history. Keep us informed with progress reports as to how you get on. I'd say good luck, but really there is no luck involved. Just hard work. Welcome to the world of investment.
