You may find that when they are referring to "renting out shares" it means
in fact "written covered calls".  ie. You are writing (selling) call options
over stock you already own.

Most brokers who trade options should be able to perform this, such as
www.sanford.com.au

The ASX site should have some good information regarding options
www.asx.com.au
